Mind & EverydayFact
The bigger the group, the quieter you shout.
Latané and colleagues had people shout as loudly as they could. Believing one other person was shouting, they produced 82 percent of their solo effort; with five others, only 74. The effect shrinks when individual contributions are visible or the group matters to them.
Useful: Make individual contributions visible in teams – that's the most effective countermeasure.
