Mind & EverydayHow it works
How to spend hours a day actually thinking instead of reacting.
Cal Newport calls focused, distraction-free work on hard tasks deep work. His recipe: block fixed slots in your calendar, 90 to 120 minutes at a time. Close email and chat entirely, not just minimised. Decide beforehand what must be finished. End the workday with a shutdown ritual. Even experienced people, Newport says, rarely manage more than four hours daily.
Useful: Two protected morning hours often beat eight fragmented ones.
