Four boxes that separate urgent from important.
The Eisenhower matrix, named after a quote from the US president, sorts tasks along two axes: important and urgent. Important and urgent: do now. Important, not urgent: schedule firmly – this is where real progress happens. Urgent, not important: delegate or dispatch quickly. Neither: drop. Most days vanish into the third box.
Useful: Sort your list into the four boxes once, then schedule box two first.
