Mind & EverydayMental model
The state where you forget the clock has a recipe.
Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi called it flow: full concentration, sense of time gone, action and awareness merging. His model: flow lives in the channel between boredom and anxiety, when the task sits just above your skill, the goal is clear and feedback is immediate. Too easy brings boredom, too hard brings overwhelm. He found the pattern in surgeons, climbers and chess players.
Useful: When a task bores you, make it harder rather than shorter.
