Money & WorkHow it works
How you really learn at work: almost never in a seminar.
The 70-20-10 model comes from a survey of nearly 200 executives at the Center for Creative Leadership: they credited about 70% of their skill to challenging assignments, 20% to feedback and exchange, 10% to courses. The numbers are a rule of thumb, not a measurement. The direction holds: ask for the project that slightly overwhelms you, then seek honest feedback.
Useful: A year with a new responsibility beats ten certificates.
