Mind & EverydayFact
After a day, most of it is gone, but not all.
In 1885 Ebbinghaus memorised nonsense syllables and tested how much he still knew. After 20 minutes about 40 percent was lost, after a day roughly two thirds, and then the curve flattened sharply. A 2015 replication found almost the same shape. Every review makes the curve flatter.
Useful: Review new material briefly the same day; that's where you save the most.
