Mind & EverydayFact
Visual learner? Research finds no evidence.
In surveys, over 90 percent of teachers believe people learn better when material matches their learning style. In 2008 Pashler and colleagues reviewed the entire literature: not one methodologically sound study showed that teaching to a supposed style improves results. What matters is the content: geography needs maps, music needs listening.
Useful: Pick the method to fit the material, not a personality quiz.
