Mind & EverydayHow it works
How flashcard apps decide when you see a card again.
Every card gets an interval. Answer correctly and it grows, roughly from 1 to 3, 7, 16, 35 days. Fail and it resets to 1. The app shows you a card just before you'd probably have forgotten it. That way you hit the forgetting curve exactly where recall strengthens memory most and costs the least time.
Useful: Honest grading is the whole trick: giving yourself a pass cheats the algorithm.
