Body & HealthFact
At rest, your heart pumps a bathtub every hour.
At rest your heart beats about 60 to 80 times a minute and moves roughly 5 litres of blood, about your entire blood volume. That adds up to some 300 litres an hour and over 100,000 beats a day. Under heavy exertion, output rises to 20 litres a minute and more.
Useful: A low resting pulse usually means your heart moves more blood with every beat.
