Mind & EverydayMental model
Don't ask how to win. Ask how to lose for sure.
Inversion flips the problem. Instead of "How do I become productive?" you ask "How do I guarantee a ruined day?": phone by the bed, no plan, ten open tabs. Then you avoid exactly that. Mathematician Carl Jacobi advised "Invert, always invert", and investor Charlie Munger popularised the method. Avoiding mistakes is often easier than forcing brilliance.
Useful: Write a list of how you'd surely miss a goal, then strike those items from your routine.
