Nobody has to take more than 50 coins at once.

Euro coins are legal tender, but Article 11 of Regulation 974/98 sets a limit: apart from the issuing authority, nobody has to accept more than 50 coins in a single payment. For banknotes the regulation sets no comparable count limit.

Useful: So a shop may refuse your piggy-bank payment – from coin 51 onwards.
