Language & WorldFact
Thai writes whole sentences without a single space.
Thai script has 44 consonant symbols with vowels attached as marks, making it an abugida. There are no spaces between words; spaces separate sentences or clauses, much like our full stops and commas. Readers work out where a word ends themselves, which is why word-splitting software needs its own dictionaries.
Useful: Paste Thai into a translation tool and a misplaced space can flip the meaning.
