Language & WorldFact
In Ethiopia the year has 13 months and the clock says 2018.
The Ethiopian calendar has twelve 30-day months plus a thirteenth, Pagume, of five or six days. New Year falls on 11 September, or 12 September before Gregorian leap years. Because Christ's birth was calculated differently, the year number runs seven to eight years behind ours. A leap day comes every four years without exception, as in the Julian calendar.
Useful: On documents from Ethiopia, always check which calendar is meant before converting a date.
