Language & WorldFact
In Argentina nobody says 'tú'.
In Argentina, Uruguay and parts of Central America, 'you' is not 'tú' but 'vos', with its own verb forms: 'vos tenés', 'vos sos', 'vos querés' instead of 'tú tienes, eres, quieres'. 'Vos' was a polite form in 16th-century Spain; the colonies kept it while the motherland switched to 'tú' and 'usted'.
Useful: If you hear '¿Vos sos de acá?', you're probably in Buenos Aires.
