Ask your 80-year-old self before you decide.

Jeff Bezos described the regret minimization framework for his 1994 decision to leave a safe job for Amazon: imagine you are 80, looking back. Which choice would you regret? The distant view filters out short-term fears – lost salary, embarrassing failure – and foregrounds what will still matter to you in ten years.

Useful: For big forks in the road, don’t ask “what’s comfortable?” but “what would I regret at 80?”.
