Three letters decide who owns the cargo during the storm.

The Incoterms of the International Chamber of Commerce, currently the 2020 edition, bundle eleven clauses. They allocate costs, transport duties and above all the passing of risk – from EXW, where the buyer bears nearly everything, to DDP, where the seller is liable to the door.

Useful: They deliberately do not govern transfer of ownership or payment – that sits elsewhere in the contract.
