Language & WorldFact
Only three countries never made the metric system mandatory.
The USA, Liberia and Myanmar are the only states without a law requiring metric units. As early as 2011, 95% of the world's population lived in countries where metric is the only legal measurement system. Even the USA has officially aimed at metrication since 1975, and federal agencies must use it; everyday use stayed voluntary.
Useful: Feet, miles and Fahrenheit are one country's special case, not a second world standard.
