Two countries need two border crossings to reach the sea.
Around 44 countries have no coastline. Only two are doubly landlocked, surrounded entirely by other landlocked states: Liechtenstein (between Switzerland and Austria) and Uzbekistan (bordered by Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Turkmenistan). From either, you must cross at least two borders to reach any coast.
Useful: Being landlocked explains a lot: higher transport costs, dependence on neighbours, often smaller trade shares.
