Language & WorldFact
Spain is just a tenth of the Spanish-speaking world.
Around 520 million people speak Spanish natively, more than English; only Mandarin has more. Spanish is official in 20 countries. The biggest is Mexico with about 130 million people; Spain, at 49 million, ranks only third behind Colombia. On top of that, the United States has roughly 40 million native Spanish speakers.
Useful: If you learn Spanish, Latin American pronunciation is worth it: it's the majority.
