Body & HealthFact
Your head weighs 5 kg – or 27, depending on how you hold it.
Upright, the head loads the cervical spine with about 4–5 kg. Tilted forward, leverage makes it effectively heavier: at 15° models estimate about 12 kg, at 60° – typical phone posture – around 27 kg. Neck muscles hold that for hours. Tension and headaches follow.
Useful: Raise the phone to eye level instead of lowering your head to the phone.
