Language & WorldFact
Since about 2007, most people live in cities.
In 1950 roughly 30% of the world's population lived in cities. Around 2007 the majority tipped toward urban for the first time; today it is over 55%. The UN expects about two thirds by 2050. Almost all of that growth is happening in Asia and Africa. Cities cover only a few percent of the land surface.
Useful: How cities organise water, transport and housing decides daily life for the majority.
