Weather is mood, climate is personality.

Weather is what happens today: rain, 12 degrees, wind from the west. Climate is the statistics of that, usually averaged over 30 years as defined by the World Meteorological Organization. One cold winter no more disproves warming than one bad day changes a personality. Trends only show up in the long series.

Useful: When someone argues about climate from today's weather, they've switched time scales without noticing.
