Science & TechFact

Everything on your phone is made of yes and no.

A bit is the smallest unit of information: 0 or 1. Eight bits make a byte, which can hold 256 different values, enough for one letter. A 3-megabyte photo is about 24 million bits. Text, music, video and programs are all, in the end, long strings of these states.

Useful: Internet speed is quoted in bits per second, file size in bytes: divide by eight.
