The older an idea, the longer it will probably live.
The Lindy effect, named after a New York deli where comedians speculated about how long shows would run: for non-perishable things like books, technologies or recipes, expected remaining lifespan grows with age. A book that has been read for 50 years will probably be read for another 50. A human life works the other way round.
Useful: When choosing between a proven and a brand-new tool, age is an argument, not a flaw.
